29th August Football Tips

Ideally we’d ignore the outcome of last week but we’ll swallow our pride: A loss of £30 to £10 stakes. High flying Goias managed to lose 2-0 at Nautico by virtue of an own goal and 2 red cards. Watch the calamity unfold in this video. Our banker, Bury, actually contrived to lose at home to Grimsby, neither Zola nor Gallen could find the net, and our only saving grace was Crewe who squeaked home.

Onto this week and we’ll pick ourselves up and try to get back to winning ways. For the first time we’ll have a go at the Premiership with some more intriguing clashes. Sunderland have already got two good wins and travel to Stoke this week. Stoke are a solid prospect at home and Sunderland don’t look particularly good in the air defensively so this could well end up a draw at 23/10. Our second Prem bet is Liverpool. They’ve stuttered but they have far too much quality for that to continue and they can beat a woeful Bolton side by more than one goal at 6/4.

Down to the Championship, and there is a clash between early strugglers Barnsley and Reading. Both are having trouble scoring but both are as leaky as an incontinent dog so 11/10 on over 2.5 goals is worth a go. Staying with goal markets but down in League One, Colchester and Leeds have both generated some goal fests this season already so when they meet at the weekend, over 2.5 goals at 5/6 is worth taking.

Finally, our bet from outside these shores. Zaragoza and Tenerife are both up to the top division in La Liga and face each other on the opening day. On paper, Zaragoza have a much better side so take them at 10/11.
